COUNTY ROAD 81 CLOSED THIS WEEK AND IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
CLOSURE IS FOR BOTH DIRECTIONS BETWEEN ELM CREEK BOULEVARD AND FERNBROOK LANE IN MAPLE GROVE.
As some of you may have seen, the large (huge) dirt pile between the two sides of the divided Cty Rd 81 near Fernbrook Lane washed over 81 during the storms this weekend.
The road was cleaned up but due to the continued instability of the stockpile, Mn/DOT and the 610 Project Contractor have decided to close County Road 81 between Fernbrook Lane and Elm Creek Blvd until further notice. At this time they don't know when the roadway will be open but the contractor will be working to reopen the roadway as soon as possible. Once additional information is known I'll post it here.
The official detour is (eastbound) Fernbrook Lane (County Road 121) to County Road 30, east to Elm Creek Boulevard and then north back to County Road 81. Westbound detour is the reverse. Drivers may want to use Maple Grove Pkwy as an alternate to the official detour as Fernbrook can and will experience significant back ups at the signal to County Road 30.
